More about Celebrating Frosty-

We invite our 2023 Participants, Volunteers, Sponsors and Guests to join us to Celebrate Frosty! 

• When: Monday, December 18th, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (just pop by or come and stay...but if you can be there at 6:00 we are going to have a bit of Fun with Frosty)
• Where:  Gold Coast Eagle Conference Center and Tasting Room, 7051 Wireless Ct, Sarasota, FL 34240  Directions
• What: Gathering with refreshments including fresh donut holes from RONC, That's It bars, beer compliments of Gold Coast Eagle, Polar Seltzer, water, pizza and plenty of bananas.
• Casual, comfy, attire.  Your holiday costumes are welcome and we'll have little prizes for our costumed guests.
• We will distribute the 2023 Frosty 5K Finisher's Medal and your race shirts if you haven't already picked them up.  
• We will also be on hand to help you submit your Virtual Results if you'd like.
• No Registration for the Celebration is Necessary!  We've already included y'all.

Cancellation of the In-Person Frosty 5K as of 12/15/2023 5:54 PM 

We have made the very difficult decision, for the safety of our participants, race crew, volunteers, and law enforcement on the course, to cancel the 2023 Frosty 5K due to the threat of severe weather.

All participants will be transferred to the Virtual Frosty 5K.  

We will be having a Celebration of Frosty on Monday, December 18th, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gold Coast Eagle Tasting Room,  7051 Wireless Ct, Sarasota, FL 34240  More details will be posted and emailed.  

We will be emailing participants and utilizing the urgent text notifications for those who opted in to that feature for the cancellation.

The Frosty 5K is set for Saturday, December 16, 2023.  Starting and finishing at Twin Lakes Park, Sarasota, through the adjacent neighborhood.  A great, wide-open, well supported road course, no grass or paths, all asphalt surfaces for a smooth & fast race.

Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome for this Frosty good time.  Race Perks Include:

• Custom Frosty 5K Finisher Medal for ALL Finishers
• Great Race Shirt in Gender Specific and Youth Sizing-  This year's shirt in Adult sizes will be a pearl-gray, long-sleeve, tech shirt.  Women's with a v-neck and more fitted through the body, Unisex/Men's with a crew neck.  Youth sizes will get a short-sleeve, white, tech shirt.  Register early to get your shirt size-we have to order early!
• Awards!  "Gun Time" M & F Overall, Youth Overall (14 & under) and Categories Masters through Senior Veteran Grandmasters (that's the first runner over 80 years old!) & "Chip Time" Age Groups
• Prizes for Most Creative Frosty Costumes
• Festive Post-Race with great food and beverages

As part of our commitment to the health & safety of our participants, race crew, volunteers and spectators, we will implement procedures and protocols commensurate with public health situations and based on guidance from local, national and international health agencies.

If you can't join us in-person, you can register for the Virtual Frosty 5K and still get your Frosty on virtually anywhere!  And do it any time between December 9th and December 31st to submit your own Virtual Frosty 5K results online.  Your Virtual Frosty 5K race packet will be mailed the week of December 9th as long as you register before December 9th.  After the 9th, Virtual Frosty 5K packets will be mailed as our hectic race week schedule and long lines at the post office permit.

Race morning schedule: 

• Packet Pick-Up:  6:30 a.m. to 7:45 
• Race Start:  8:00 a.m. 
• Post-Race Celebration: First Finisher until 10:00 a.m.
• Costume "Contest": About 9:15
• Awards Presentation: When our age group winners have finished
