    We would like to give recognition to Charlotte Thuemmel retired director of this race for 25 years!   
    The proceeds from this race benefit The Port Austin Fire Department.  
    EVENTS:  *8k Run * 2 Mile Run * 2 Mile Walk  
    WHEN:  Saturday, July 27, 2024. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration is from 7:30-8:00 a.m.  
    WHERE:  Gallup Park in Port Austin, located just off M-25, ½ mile west of stop-light in Port Austin, MI  
    REGISTRATION AND FEES:  2 Mile Run and Walk- Before July 13, 2024, $20 * After July 13, 2024, $25 * No Shirt subtract $5.  8K- Before July 13, 2024, $25 * After July 13, 2024, $30 * No Shirt subtract $5. 
    *Shirts are not guaranteed after July 13, 2024  
    FACILITIES: Please come dressed and ready to race. Port-A-Johns are available at the park.  
    COURSE: The scenic 8K Run includes both village and rural roads, about 50/50 paved and gravel. The 2 mile Run and Walk is all paved village streets. Water stations provided for both courses. Refreshments will be provided at the pavilion after the race. Bikes, scooters, roller-skates/blades are prohibited for safety reasons. 
    *The 2 mile Run and Walk will start a couple of minutes before the 8K Run. The 8K Run will start in the opposite direction as the 2 mile.
    *If you sign up for the 2 mile walk you MUST walk only.   
    RESULTS/TIMING: Our race will be professionally timed by Aldrich Timing & Race Management LLC. Results will be posted shortly after the race and will be available on https://runsignup.com/PortAustinRunandWalk
    AWARDS: Trophies to overall male and female winner. Trophies to top 3 finishers in each age group  
    AGE GROUPS: Both 2 Mile Run and Walk and 8K Run:  10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+
