The Bear Trax and Brownie Shuffle is a running and walking event at Lapham Peak State Park, with 5K 10K and 20K options to suit every level of athlete.  It was started in 2009 as a way to honor a dear friend, Nancy Sellars, who was killed by a drunk driver while riding her bike. The race brings people to the trails she loved at Lapham Peak and also raises money for the Peak Nordic Scholarship Fund. This money helps support the vision and purpose of Peak Nordic Ski Club, which is to promote the sport of cross country skiing and create life-long skiers by providing a fun and organized teaching and competitive venue for all area youth.
